Ebonyi State Governor, Engr David Umahi has sacked three categories of his appointees in Ivo local government area of the state where the former Senate President, Anyim Pius hails from.
Those affected include Senior Technical Assistants to the Governor, Technical Assistants, Liaison Officers, Management Committee Members from the Council area.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to Ebonyi State Government and Coordinating Commissioner, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, the Governor noted the removals were in keeping with his policy of inclusive governance.
However, the development may not be unconnected with the disagreement between the governor and the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation since Umahi defected to the All Progressives Congress.
The statement reads: “In keeping with policy of inclusive governance, the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE has approved the removal from office of the following political office holders from Ivo Local Government Area”:
They are: ‘All STAs and TAs from Ivo Local Government Area, All Liaison Officers from Ivo Local Government Area, All Management Committee members from Ivo Local Government Area”.
“The affected office holders are to handover all Government Property in their possession to the Secretary to the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner by the close of work today, 2nd December 2020”.
The Governor had sacked two coordinators from the area and all coordinators from the local government area of the former Governor, Senator Sam Egwu.
Like Anyim, Egwu has lost the support love of the Governor over the attack on defection to APC.
